An island of layered red sandstone in the grey dusk; warm amber light spills from a sea cave at the waterline, like a workshop busy through the night, and reflects golden in the dark water.

Agents need a home.

Cavvy is a native macOS app for coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, opencode and Gemini CLI.

Origin

Coding agents work for a long time, and often several at once. A terminal window is a poor home for that: close it and the work stops; keep three open and you won’t notice the one that’s been waiting on you for ten minutes.

Cavvy keeps sessions alive in a background daemon and shows in the sidebar who’s working, who’s waiting and who’s done.

Principles

No telemetry, no accounts, no stored SSH keys. Cavvy stays out of the Mac App Store on purpose: its sandbox would lock every agent in and hide the keychain entry it needs to sign in. So Cavvy comes as a direct download, signed and notarized by Apple.

Tech

Daemon and command line in Rust, the app in SwiftUI. Every session is a real terminal and can get its own Git worktree. The daemon runs in your login session so agents reliably reach their credentials, and a built-in doctor explains when they can’t. Through your SSH config it installs itself on Linux and Mac servers in one click, no root required.
