A dwelling mound with a single thatched house and one lit window above wet tidal flats and salt marsh, a red lighthouse beacon glimmering far off in the evening haze.

Origin

A warft is a man-made mound in the Wadden Sea, raised so houses stay dry when the tide comes in. The name came before the features: for weeks, warfta.eu said only that something was coming – and we said what once it held.

What came out of it is the tool most of us stand deepest in every day: the inbox.

Principles

warfta has no server of its own. Mail travels between your Mac and your mail provider; we never see it. Summaries and reply suggestions are computed on device by Apple Intelligence. No telemetry, no analytics.

And warfta tells you when a display name claims a different address, or a link leads somewhere other than it says.

Tech

A native Mac app written in Swift for macOS 26, with its core in a separate package and a local SQLite database. Google and Microsoft sign you in on their own pages; iCloud and any IMAP account work too.

The core is built from day one to run on iPhone and iPad as well. That work hasn’t started yet.

Status

In development, with the waitlist open on warfta.eu. The pricing model is settled: buy once, no subscription. We’ll name a price and a date once we can keep them – people on the list hear first.
